Q: Can I open the capsule and take the powder on its own?
A: It is possible, although we do not recommend it as a routine. N-acetyl-L-cysteine has a distinctly sulphurous taste and smell, which most people find unpleasant. If swallowing capsules is difficult, discuss a convenient way of taking it with a specialist.
